Senior Technical Lead / DevOps Engineer Contract: 12 months Location: Dublin , hybrid, 3 days per week onsite Rate: €700 per day Our client is looking for a Senior Technical Lead / DevOps Engineer to support the delivery of key digital banking and payments initiatives. This role will suit a highly technical, hands-on senior engineer who can work across Java development, DevOps, platform support and solution design. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams, vendors and business stakeholders to design and deliver secure payment solutions within a large enterprise environment. The role requires strong Java experience, but the wider focus is on someone with broad technical knowledge across DevOps tooling, Windows platforms, secure application development, certificate management and enterprise delivery. Key Responsibilities Lead and contribute to hands-on Java development across digital banking and payments initiatives Work with vendors and internal teams to design and deliver payment solutions Support delivery across the full project lifecycle, from design through to implementation Work across DevOps tooling, CI/CD, platform support and deployment processes Use tools such as Jenkins and Ansible Tower to support build and deployment activity Support secure application development, security best practice and certificate management Work within Windows-based enterprise environments Collaborate with global teams, technical stakeholders and business partners Navigate a large organisation and drive delivery with limited direction Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders Key Skills Required Strong hands-on Java development experience Senior-level technical lead experience Experience with Spring / JEE enterprise applications DevOps background or strong DevOps exposure Jenkins experience Ansible Tower experience Windows platform experience Experience with containers and/or microservices Secure development experience and good security awareness Certificate management experience Enterprise database experience, such as Oracle, SQL, MongoDB or MarkLogic Agile delivery experience Source control experience, ideally BitBucket or similar Strong communication skills and ability to work with vendors Experience working in large enterprise environments Nice to Have Banking or financial services experience Payments or treasury experience Experience designing payment solutions Previous experience working with global teams or blue-chip organisations
