About TechJobsData

TechJobsData is an independent tech-job data platform based in Dobrich, Bulgaria. We continuously collect job listings for software engineers, data scientists, DevOps engineers and other technology roles from 9 public job platforms, clean and normalize them into a single consistent schema, and make the result available in two ways: a free, searchable job board for job seekers, and a documented REST API for developers who want to build on top of the data.

Why we built this

Tech job listings are scattered across dozens of boards, each with its own format, its own way of (not) stating the salary, and its own idea of what "senior" means. Comparing opportunities — or analyzing the market as a whole — means reading the same information in ten different shapes. We built TechJobsData to solve that: one dataset, one schema, with the messy parts already cleaned up.

How our pipeline works

Twice a day, our crawlers fetch new listings from public sources such as RemoteOK, Remotive, Arbeitnow, The Muse and WeWorkRemotely. Every listing then goes through a normalization pipeline that adds structure the original posting usually doesn't have:

  • Skill extraction. We parse each title and description against a curated dictionary of technologies (languages, frameworks, databases, cloud platforms) and tag the listing with the skills it actually requires — so you can search for "Rust" or "Kubernetes" across every source at once.
  • Salary parsing. Salaries appear as "$120k–$150k", "€65.000 p.a." or "£400/day". We parse these formats, convert periods to yearly figures, and store a comparable minimum and maximum with its currency.
  • Seniority detection. We classify listings into Junior, Mid, Senior and Lead levels based on the title and description, making experience-level filtering possible across sources that don't offer it themselves.
  • Deduplication and freshness. Each listing is stored once by its canonical URL, and stale listings are removed daily so the 29,302 jobs currently in the index reflect the live market.

What we do with the data

Beyond search, we publish free market insights computed from the full dataset: which skills are most in demand right now, how salaries differ by seniority level, what share of listings are remote, and which companies are hiring the most. These statistics are recalculated continuously from our own database — they are not available anywhere else, because no single source board sees the whole picture.

Attribution and fair use

Every listing on TechJobsData links back to the original posting, and applying always happens on the source platform — we never intercept applications or charge job seekers anything. We aggregate only publicly available listings, respect the technical and legal boundaries of the platforms we index, and remove listings promptly when a source takes them down.

Who we are

TechJobsData is built and operated by a small engineering team in Bulgaria. We fund the project through API subscriptions and advertising on the site, which keeps the job board and market insights free for everyone. If you have questions, feedback or a partnership idea, we'd love to hear from you — see the contact page.
