Technical Lead ( Java, Microservices, Kafka ) Location: 5 Days working from Sonata Software, Guindy, Chennai. Experience: 12–15 Years Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to drive the architecture, design, and delivery of large-scale banking and payment processing solutions built on Java Microservices architecture. In this role, you will lead the development of secure, scalable, and high-performing applications that support transaction processing, digital payments, and financial services platforms. You will work closely with architects, product teams, and stakeholders to define technical solutions, guide engineering teams, and implement modern event-driven architectures using Kafka and cloud-native technologies. This position offers an opportunity to combine hands-on technical leadership with solution design, mentoring, and engineering excellence while addressing complex challenges across distributed systems in a fast-paced Agile environment. Required Technical Skills Strong experience in Java and Microservices development . Expertise in designing and implementing scalable Microservices-based architectures . Strong design skills across Java, Microservices, Cloud platforms, and UI frameworks . Hands-on experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and RESTful services . Hands-on experience with Kafka or other streaming/event-driven technologies. Strong experience in application troubleshooting and deployment management. Experience with source control tools such as Git . Advanced knowledge of application architecture, system design, and distributed systems. Expertise in Azure Cloud , Kubernetes, Docker, and OpenShift. Knowledge of industry technology trends, cloud-native architecture, and engineering best practices. Good to Have Prior experience working on banking or payment domain highly preferred. Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Exposure to API Gateway, Service Mesh, and containerized environments. Experience working in cloud-native application ecosystems.
