Platform Automation & Observability Engineer (Devops)| Contract or Permanent | Budapest, Hungary | Hybrid (2 days/week) Join a global engineering organisation building the next generation of dashboard-as-a-service and observability tooling. We're partnering with a leading enterprise technology business to find an experienced Platform Automation & Observability Engineer to join their newly formed platform team. This role sits at the intersection of telemetry, observability, AI/ML, and data integration — creating visibility and trust for both internal teams and executive stakeholders. Open to either a contract or permanent engagement, depending on your preference. Hybrid working, with 2 days per week in the Budapest office. What you'll be doing Core Engineering & Delivery Design, build, and maintain dashboards with integrations across multiple tools and environments Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting dashboard development and deployment Develop AI-powered chatbots and agents to reduce manual reporting burden Automate data ingestion, transformation, and delivery pipelines across enterprise tooling Observability & Telemetry Instrument and maintain telemetry pipelines for system and service health visibility Define and build operational dashboards for monitoring platform health and trends Contribute to service improvement initiatives driven by metrics and data analysis Integrations & Tooling Integrate enterprise platforms (ServiceNow, Jira, cloud-native services) into centralised reporting systems Build reusable connectors and data models enabling rapid onboarding of new data sources Support self-service dashboard capabilities across the organisation Cross-Team Collaboration Partner with engineering, cloud platform, and line-of-business teams on data and reporting needs Support audit and compliance requirements through reporting and data transparency Work across global teams and time zones Ownership & Delivery Independently own and deliver complex workstreams end-to-end Provide clear status, risk, and outcome reporting Contribute to strategic platform improvements, not just task execution What we're looking for Essential: 8–12+ years in platform engineering, DevOps, automation engineering, or observability/data engineering Proven track record delivering complex, automation-driven solutions at enterprise scale Hands-on experience building and operating dashboard or reporting platforms Strong experience with cloud workloads in at least one hyperscaler (AWS, Azure, or GCP); multi-cloud preferred Proficiency in Python (preferred), Go, or similar scripting/automation languages Experience with AI/ML tooling, including building agents or chatbots using frameworks like LangChain or similar Deep familiarity with telemetry/observability/logging pipelines, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code, and API-driven data integration Experience with reporting/dashboard platforms (Grafana, Power BI, Tableau, or custom-built) Comfortable with ServiceNow, Jira, and Git-based workflows Strong data-driven problem-solving mindset; able to work independently with minimal direction Experience in Agile / continuous improvement environments Nice to have: Security tooling exposure (e.g. Wiz, Prisma, Orca, CrowdStrike) Background in SRE or platform reliability practices Experience with asset inventory / ITAM integrations Exposure to SAP cloud environments or large enterprise programmes What success looks like in the first 6–9 months Delivering a dashboard framework that scales rapidly across teams Shipping AI-powered agents or chatbots that reduce manual information requests Building automation that measurably reduces manual workload Improving adoption, remediation tracking, and time-to-insight Growing service metrics, dashboards, and reporting maturity across the platform Team culture We value outcomes over activity, data-driven decisions, ownership and accountability, collaboration and knowledge sharing, sustainable pace, and an innovative spirit.
