Cloud Engineer

Job Title: Engineer Location: Southampton (Hybrid) Duration: 6 Months IR35: Inside IR35 Project Title: Zoomstack Delivery Experience required: Building, deploying, testing, debugging, scaling, and monitoring secure systems Clear communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders Developing modules for use on Databricks with Scala and Spark Automated Access and Security Management Your responsibilities will include: Build and maintain software components using modern engineering and iterative delivery practices Provide expert software development and configuration in your technical area Understand, apply and advocate engineering best practices, industry patterns and solutions Ensure software is secure, reliable and thoroughly tested Work collaboratively within agile, cross functional delivery teams Develop high quality documentation How you'll do it: You will play a crucial role in our team by developing software components and modules involved in product generation, along with the supporting infrastructure they rely on. The role requires a DevSecOps mindset, combining sound software engineering, infrastructure awareness and security by design to deliver reliable, well tested and maintainable solutions. Skills and Technologies required: Azure DevOps and Azure Cloud Services (Entra, Batch, ADLS, ADF) Azure Infrastructure as code Data Pipeline tooling (Databricks (with Unity Catalog / Spark / ADF etc) experience Experience with Scala, Bicep, Python, PowerShell Location: Based out in Southampton (not fully remote) with the contingent worker coming into office at least once a week on Wednesdays and attend monthly and quarterly in person days.
