Provide technical guidance across multiple development teams to deliver a cohesive, maintainable platform that can be deployed in connected and disconnected environments. Ensure the environment enables secure CI/CD, automated testing, and reliable Kubernetes platform operations while continually evaluating technologies that improve productivity, quality, security, and maintainability. Collect, analyze, and present metrics that demonstrate changes in automation effectiveness, deployment reliability, and system health over time. Support secure and repeatable delivery across private cloud, enterprise infrastructure, and selected public cloud environments. Due to the nature of the government contract all employees must be US Citizens and either have a Secret or Top Secret clearance or be eligible to be granted one. Essential Job Functions Perform a broad range of DevOps responsibilities, including authoring and maintaining automation, deployment, and monitoring scripts; implementing and sustaining security controls; managing virtualized and containerized assets; and supporting network, server, communications, test, and development environments. Support the design, integration, testing, and deployment of applications within an enterprise Kubernetes environment using modern DevOps tools and engineering practices. Contribute to a team focused on delivering an automated DevOps environment and advancing automation across system configuration, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment workflows. Author and maintain automation scripts in multiple languages to support platform operations, testing, and deployment activities. Administer and apply configuration management tools and processes to maintain accurate baselines and repeatable system builds. Analyze real-world problems and implement practical solutions that apply industry best practices and improve team productivity, security, and deployment consistency. Help maintain consistent deployment, policy, and operational patterns across connected, disconnected, on-premises, and cloud-hosted environments. Desired Job Functions Assist teams that contribute to or consume the system baseline in the effective use of DevOps processes, tools, and automation capabilities. Troubleshoot platform and system issues by analyzing hardware and software behavior, identifying root causes, resolving problems, and documenting performance results and operational findings. Required Skills Experience implementing DevOps, IT, or security automation in support of multiple teams. Knowledge of DevOps implementation using private-cloud and commercial-cloud best practices. Strong experience with Linux systems engineering and administration. Experience with private-cloud and hybrid-cloud design, operations, monitoring, and deployment: VMware vSphere and ESXi, including operation and lifecycle support in enterprise environments. Practical knowledge of Kubernetes administration and container platform development, security, deployment, and lifecycle management practices, including support for Kubernetes- and VM-based workloads in private, hybrid, or cloud-connected environments. Familiarity with VMware Aria Operations, or similar tooling, to automate deployment and teardown of virtual machines, networks, and other virtualized assets in VMware environments. Familiarity with Amazon Web Services and the secure operation of workloads across on-premises and cloud-connected environments. Ability to manage enterprise web services and supporting platform integrations. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and operational demands. Support documentation for DevOps and related technologies, including system diagrams, process flows, and operational procedures. Effective interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills: Professionally communicate system-wide performance, security, and automation metrics using tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Jira, and Confluence. Train others to perform similar DevOps and automation tasks. Support a corporate knowledge library by maintaining and promoting useful technical content. Interact with developers to understand software changes that affect development and testing activities, review relevant implementations, and communicate impacts to developers and testers while incorporating feedback for continuous improvement. Required Education / Experience Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science or Information Technology from an accredited college or university. Seven or more years of increasingly complex related professional work experience preferred. Additional Experience / Expertise Certifications or work toward certifications in DevOps, cloud computing, Kubernetes, security, automation, or related technical disciplines are a plus.
