About The Role This position is a critical part of Lockheed Martin's Cyber & Intelligence division, focusing on safeguarding vital networks against evolving cyber threats. As a DevOps Software Engineer specializing in satellite communication systems, you will lead the development, deployment, and maintenance of mission-critical systems. Your role involves designing and implementing automated pipelines, managing Kubernetes clusters, and optimizing GPU resources to ensure high performance and security. Working closely with cross-functional teams, including system architects, project managers, and cybersecurity experts, you will ensure that software solutions meet stringent user requirements and are delivered on schedule. This role demands a high level of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where security and reliability are paramount. Your contributions will directly impact national security and technological innovation in space and communication systems. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, complemented by over 20 years of professional experience in software development, DevOps, or related disciplines. You must hold an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph authorization. Demonstrated expertise in Kubernetes cluster management, container orchestration, and cloud-native technologies is essential. Familiarity with GPU configuration, CUDA, and high-performance computing environments is required. Certifications such as CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) are highly desirable. Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, and familiarity with Go, YAML, and JSON are necessary. Experience with DevOps tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Helm, and Ansible will be advantageous. The candidate should demonstrate excellent collaboration and communication skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders. Knowledge of RF data processing and RF application development is a plus, along with a solid understanding of Linux operating systems, network management, and security protocols. Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain scalable DevOps pipelines for C++ and Python applications, leveraging Kubernetes, Helm, and related tools. Manage and configure Kubernetes clusters to ensure high availability, security, and scalability, including cluster lifecycle management and troubleshooting. Optimize GPU resources for performance-critical applications using CUDA or similar technologies, ensuring efficient utilization. Develop and execute automated testing and deployment scripts, integrating tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD to streamline software delivery. Identify, debug, and resolve software defects through effective troubleshooting techniques, maintaining system reliability. Collaborate closely with system architects, project managers, and cybersecurity teams to ensure software aligns with mission requirements and security standards. Maintain comprehensive documentation of system designs, processes, and interfaces to facilitate knowledge sharing and operational continuity. Implement security best practices within Kubernetes and Linux environments, including RBAC, secrets management, and certificate handling. Support ongoing system modernization efforts, including RF data processing and application development for satellite communications.
