About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Java Developer to join our team and contribute to the development and enhancement of the Allianz Business System (ABS). As a Senior Java Developer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining backend solutions that meet the needs of our customers while adhering to the highest standards of quality, security, and performance. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership: Take the initiative to design technical solutions, drive implementation, and ensure alignment with architectural principlesRequirement Analysis: Collaborate with product owners and team members to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutionsEnd-to-End Ownership: Take responsibility for features from development to production, ensuring high-quality deliveryAgile Collaboration: Actively participate in agile ceremonies, promoting an agile mindset and fostering a culture of continuous improvementBest Practices: Shape engineering culture by applying best practices such as clean code principles, code reviews and proper documentationOptimization: Continuously maintain, refactor, and optimize existing software systems for performance, scalability, and securityTechnical Consulting: Provide technical expertise and support to internal and external stakeholders Essential Skills Key Requirements / Technical Skills Java Expertise: Excellent knowledge and experience in Java and common Java frameworks such as Spring and Spring BootDatabase Skills: Proficiency in working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and ideally also document databases (e.g., MongoDB)API Design and Integration: Solid experience in designing, implementing, and consuming RESTful APIsEvent-Driven Architecture: Familiarity with event-driven architectures and data streaming using KafkaMicroservices: Strong understanding of microservice architecture and established patternsTools & Testing: Proficiency in tools like Maven, JUnit and other testing frameworks Desirable Skills OSGi & Eclipse: Knowledge of OSGi and Eclipse Extension Point concepts.Cloud & DevOps: Experience with AWS, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins), SonarQube, Docker, Kubernetes, CDK8S, and IstioPerformance Monitoring: Familiarity with performance analysis and optimization techniquesABS-Specific Knowledge: Familiarity with Allianz Business System (ABS) components such as A3K, Facade, and Adapter is highly desirable and will be considered a strong advantage Qualifications & Soft Skills Mindset: Open-minded, curious, and creative with a passion for learning new technologiesCommunication: Strong communication skills and fluency in EnglishTeam Player: Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environmentProblem-Solving: Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a focus on delivering business valueMentorship: Willingness to coach and support team members, sharing technical expertise Allianz Group is one of the most trusted insurance and asset management companies in the world.
