Node.js Developer (Full Stack) Location: London Security Clearance: Must hold active DV Clearance Employment Type: Contract (flexible) Duration: 6 Months Overview We are seeking an experienced DV Cleared Node.js Developer to join a high-performing engineering team working on secure, mission-critical systems. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to complex projects within a highly secure environment, using modern technologies across both backend and frontend development. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable applications, working closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services using Node.js Build secure, scalable APIs and microservices architectures Develop responsive and user-friendly frontend components using modern frameworks Collaborate with UX/UI designers to deliver high-quality user experiences Work within Agile / Scrum teams, contributing to sprint planning and delivery Ensure code quality through testing, code reviews, and best practices Maintain and improve system performance, security, and reliability Integrate with third-party systems and internal services Work in highly secure environments adhering to strict compliance requirements Required Skills & Experience Backend Strong commercial experience with Node.js (Express.js / NestJS preferred) Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices Good understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architecture Familiarity with databases such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or similar Knowledge of authentication and security best practices (OAuth, JWT, etc.) Frontend Solid experience with modern frontend frameworks such as: React, Angular, or Vue.js Strong proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript Experience with HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design Understanding of UI/UX principles General Experience with Git and version control workflows Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices Experience working in Agile environments Strong problem-solving and communication skills Desirable Skills Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Knowledge of containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) Familiarity with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation) Experience in secure or government environments Understanding of testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Cypress) Security Requirements Active DV Clearance is essential (Candidates must currently hold valid clearance to be considered)
