Python Team Lead

Project overview We are looking for a Python Team Lead to join our team for a new and exciting project in collaboration with one of our clients. Our partner is a major player in railway infrastructure, developing advanced signaling, traffic management, and digital train control systems. In this role you will be responsible for leading a medium-size team of automation engineers. Responsibilities Designs and implements robust Python automation test cases from the ground up, applying OOP principles and industry patterns such as Page Object, Facade. Authors complex PyTest suites with fixtures, hooks, parametrize. Builds web UI automation and Playwright (including headless and cloud grid execution) and covers backend/API layers with requests, and contract testing. Enforces PEP 8, typing, and clean code standards across the team's entire test codebase. Implements and maintains Jenkins Pipeline-as-code (Jenkinsfile, shared libraries, multi-branch pipelines) to run automated suites on every commit. Manages Git workflows (Git-flow, branch strategy, PR reviews) and integrates test results with Polarion and Jira through API connectors. Packages test environments in Docker Compose for reproducible, environment-independent execution. Defines the automation scope and KPIs (pass rate, flaky-test index, coverage %). Leads automation planning and effort estimation. Authors Test Plans and STR/STD documents. Leads a team of automation engineers: runs daily stand-ups and 1-on-1 coaching sessions. Onboards new joiners and assigns automation tasks to team members. Collaborates cross-functionally with architects, DevOps, product managers, and security. Requirements Minimum 5 years of experience in Python development and team leadership. Python 3.10+ experience and OOP & Design Patterns knowledge. PyTest including Typing and packaging experience. Previous work experience with automation frameworks (Playwright, REST/ API testing, Robot framework). CI & tooling exposure: Jenkins (pipeline-as-code), Git/ Git-flow, Polarion/ Jira. Solid technical skills Web & Data: HTTP/REST, HTML/CSS/JS/DOM and SQL (PostgreSQL). Ability to mentor & coach team members. Ability to handle Estimation & planning and drive a Code review culture. Good command of English, both written and spoken.
