Senior Site Reliability Engineer

About the Company We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to help design, build, automate, and support cloud-native infrastructure and applications within a Microsoft Azure environment. This role will focus on improving platform reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence through Infrastructure as Code, automation, and modern DevOps practices. About the Role The ideal candidate combines strong Azure expertise with software engineering capabilities and has experience developing automation tools, APIs, and cloud infrastructure solutions. Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure Azure cloud infrastructure. Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform. Build automation solutions and operational tooling using Python. Design and develop APIs and backend services using TypeScript/JavaScript and NestJS. Partner with development teams to improve system reliability, observability, and deployment processes. Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support rapid and reliable software delivery. Monitor application and infrastructure performance and proactively address reliability concerns. Create and maintain disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity strategies. Troubleshoot complex production issues and lead root cause analysis efforts. Establish and promote SRE best practices, including service level objectives (SLOs), service level indicators (SLIs), and error budgets. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, efficiency, and platform stability. Qualifications 4–5+ years of experience supporting cloud infrastructure and Site Reliability Engineering functions. Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure. Experience developing automation and operational tooling using Python. Strong experience writing and managing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform. Experience building RESTful APIs and backend services using JavaScript and/or TypeScript. Working knowledge of NestJS framework. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices. Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, monitoring, and observability. Experience supporting production environments and troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues. Preferred Skills Experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments. Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar automation platforms. Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, Azure Monitor, or similar platforms. Experience implementing SRE principles including SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets. Strong scripting and automation mindset with a passion for operational excellence.
