AI & Back-End Developer

We're looking for a developer who loves building real things for real businesses. You'll work on custom web platforms, AI integrations, and automation tools across a variety of client projects.   What you'll do :   Build and ship custom web applications and platforms Integrate AI and automation into client workflows Collaborate directly with clients and the strategy team Contribute to internal tooling and projects   What we’re looking for :   Experience & Technical Skills 3+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on backend development. Strong proficiency in modern web development technologies, including Python, Django, React, Node.js, or equivalent frameworks. Hands-on experience building APIs, microservices, integrations, data workflows, and automation solutions. Strong understanding of third-party API integrations and connecting disparate tools and systems into unified workflows.   AI Development Hands-on experience implementing Agentic AI, LLM integrations, and AI orchestration frameworks. Highly proficient with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or equivalent, to accelerate development and delivery.   Delivery & Architecture Ability to move quickly from concept to production, including delivering rapid 3–4 week MVPs. Comfortable balancing fast-paced MVP development with scalable, long-term architecture and technical projects.   Consulting & Collaboration Strong client-facing and consulting skills, with the ability to translate business needs and complex workflows into clear technical requirements and solutions. Autonomous, curious, resourceful, and comfortable working in a fast-moving, evolving environment.   Nice to Have Additional experience in AI/ML. Experience with mobile application development. Frontend Savvy: Experience with Next.js and React to build out client dashboards or internal tools. Machine Learning: Familiarity with traditional ML workflows, data science, or fine-tuning models. SME Experience: Prior experience working directly with small-to-medium enterprises.     Location Based in the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM).
