Java Backend Developer

Java Backend Developer Location: Montreal, QC Hybrid Employment Type: Full-Time Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Java Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and services. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Core Java, SQL/NoSQL databases , and backend development principles. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain robust backend applications using Java and Core Java . Build scalable, high-performance backend services and APIs. Develop efficient database queries, data models, and database integrations. Work with both SQL and NoSQL databases based on application requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve application performance and production issues. Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code following coding standards and best practices. Collaborate with frontend developers, architects, QA teams, and business stakeholders. Participate in code reviews, unit testing, debugging, and continuous improvement. Contribute to technical design, development, deployment, and support activities. Required Skills Strong hands-on experience with Java and Core Java . Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming, Collections, Multithreading, Exception Handling, and Java APIs . Strong experience working with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server. Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, or similar. Good understanding of backend application architecture and RESTful APIs. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Spring/Spring Boot and microservices architecture. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP . Experience with Git, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes is a plus. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
