Backend Engineer

Backend Engineer — Platform & Infrastructure We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who takes ownership of backend services end-to-end — from writing the code to tuning the database to managing the deployment pipeline. You'll work across a suite of Spring Boot microservices handling payments, entitlements, data processing, and geospatial tile serving, with real ownership of production infrastructure. Responsibilities Own and evolve backend microservices built on Java/Spring Boot Design and maintain PostgreSQL schemas, migrations (Flyway), query performance, and data integrity constraints Manage and debug Kubernetes-hosted services in collaboration with infrastructure teams Own subscription billing integrations , including edge case handling and data repair Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitLab), cron jobs, and data processing workflows Work with Cloudflare (CDN, Workers, rate limiting) and observability tooling (Graylog, Grafana) Debug production incidents across service boundaries Requirements 4+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally with Spring Boot / Java Strong PostgreSQL skills — not just queries, but schema design, indexing strategy, range types, migrations Comfort operating in Kubernetes environments and reading infrastructure-level signals (logs, metrics, pod state) Experience with payment provider integrations or financial/billing systems is a strong plus Familiarity with Cloudflare or CDN concepts is a plus GitLab CI/CD or equivalent pipeline ownership experience React/frontend exposure is nice-to-have, not required Work Benefits A modern office in the heart of Vilnius – Sapiegų park, with an open-plan workspace, outdoor terrace, and a park nearby for refreshing midday walks.
