Full Stack Engineer

We're seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join the core team of YardOS , a greenfield product built for operational excellence in complex, compliance-driven environments. This is a ground-floor opportunity to shape a modern, AI-enhanced platform from its earliest stages. We need a senior engineer who's excited about solving hard problems, owning significant product areas, and helping shape our engineering culture from day one. You'll work with a lean, high-output team using a modern stack (TypeScript, Vue, PostgreSQL, PowerSync) with offline-first architecture , CQRS event sourcing , and AI-enhanced workflows . This isn't a role where you'll be handed detailed specifications, you'll need to understand user goals deeply, ask why, and figure out the best path forward. This role reports directly to YardOS Product Engineering and is ideal for senior engineers who want ownership, autonomy, and the opportunity to work on technically challenging problems in regulated industries. What You'll Do Own complete features end-to-end: from understanding user problems to shipping polished solutions Build and own full stack features across a modern TypeScript stack: Vue.js frontend, Node.js backend, PostgreSQL database Implement offline-first capabilities for environments with limited connectivity Design and build REST APIs following CQRS patterns with event-driven architectures Integrate AI workflows and leverage AI development tools to maximize your impact as part of a small team Collaborate with product leadership to translate complex operational requirements into elegant technical solutions Help establish the engineering practices and patterns as part of the core YardOS team Make architectural decisions that balance speed, quality, and long-term maintainability Ensure the platform meets stringent requirements for security, compliance, and reliability in regulated environments Must-Have Qualifications Technical: 8+ years of professional software development experience Expert-level TypeScript/JavaScript across both frontend and backend Strong frontend skills with Vue.js (or equivalent modern framework, React, Svelte) Backend expertise with Node.js , including REST API design, webhooks, and microservice patterns Deep PostgreSQL knowledge , complex queries, performance tuning, database design Experience with event-driven architectures (CQRS, event sourcing, or domain-driven design patterns ) and asynchronous job processing Proficiency with Docker, CI/CD pipelines , and cloud platforms (AWS preferred) Understanding of offline-first/local-first application patterns (Cache management) Mindset & Approach: Curiosity & ownership : You want to understand why we're building something, not just what to build Autonomous problem-solver : You can take a user goal and figure out the complete solution without needing stories spoon-fed to you Product-minded : You're genuinely excited about what we're building and want to grow with the team AI-augmented productivity : You actively use AI tools to write better code faster, critical for our small team Pragmatic builder : You ship working software, get feedback, and iterate. Experience: Track record of building scalable, production-grade systems from early stages Experience working in regulated or compliance-heavy industries (healthcare, finance, logistics, etc.) Strong architectural thinking. You've made difficult tradeoff decisions and lived with the consequences Comfortable operating with autonomy in ambiguous, fast-moving environments Nice-to-Have Experience with PowerSync, ElectricSQL, PouchDB, or similar offline sync technologies Familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph, or AI agent orchestration frameworks Experience with Keycloak or enterprise authentication systems (SAML, OAuth, multi-tenancy) Background in Graphile Worker, BullMQ, or similar job queue systems Kysely ORM or similar type-safe database tooling Exposure to vector databases (pgvector) or semantic search What We're Looking For You're a senior engineer who doesn't need hand-holding .
