We're partnering with an innovative, fast-growing FinTech business that's transforming the way financial technology is built and delivered. This is an exciting opportunity for a Junior Java Software Engineer to join a highly collaborative engineering team where you'll work with modern technologies, contribute to real-world projects, and learn from experienced developers who are passionate about engineering excellence. As part of an agile engineering team, you'll be involved in the full software development lifecycle, helping to design, build, test and deploy scalable backend services and distributed applications. You'll have the opportunity to: Develop enterprise-grade applications using Java 17 & Java 21 Build and maintain microservices and event-driven architectures Work with messaging technologies including Kafka and IBM MQ Develop cloud-native applications using AWS Containerise applications with Docker Collaborate with engineers using modern DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines Contribute to system design, code reviews and technical discussions Explore and integrate emerging AI technologies into innovative FinTech solutions Work alongside experienced engineers who will mentor and support your development We're looking for developers who are passionate about technology and eager to learn. You'll ideally have: Bachelors degree in Computer Science from a reputable university Commercial experience developing applications with Java Experience with Java 17 or Java 21 Experience in Platform: Kubernetes Data Storage AI via Co-pilot Knowledge of Oracle SQL/PLSQL Exposure to Kafka or other messaging technologies Understanding of Docker and containerised applications Some experience working with AWS or cloud platforms Familiarity with Git, Jenkins and Jira An understanding of RESTful APIs and microservice architectures Any exposure to Golang or AI technologies would be a huge advantage
