Senior Java Developer (Multithreading)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer to join a team responsible for developing and maintaining innovative digital platforms used within a global financial environment. You will contribute to the evolution of high-performance applications, working across the full software development lifecycle while collaborating with international teams and business stakeholders. Work Model: Hybrid (2–3 days per week in the office – Lisbon) Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications. Ensure applications are delivered with high standards of quality, security, and performance. Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including technical analysis, documentation, development, testing, and code reviews. Collaborate with production support teams to ensure smooth releases and ongoing platform maintenance. Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions. Provide L3 support when required, assisting with troubleshooting and issue resolution. Contribute to Agile development practices and continuous improvement initiatives. Required Skills & Experience Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Strong experience with Java 21+ . Solid knowledge of the Spring Framework . Experience working with relational databases and SQL. Strong understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and asynchronous processing in Java . Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Maven , Git , shell scripting, and JavaScript. Experience working with software testing and requirements analysis. Experience working on complex and evolving codebases. Frontend development experience with Angular is valued. Experience working within Agile development environments. Exposure to financial services, capital markets, or investment banking environments is considered an advantage. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Professional proficiency in English .
