This is a hands-on role with real breadth, working alongside development and IT Operations as one team, with a collaborative culture and no heavy process to slow you down. The environment is genuinely global, and the problems are real scale. If that sounds like your kind of work, read on. We are working with an established payments technology business looking to appoint a Senior DevOps Engineer to help build and transform its technology estate. The environment is AWS-heavy, with Kubernetes as the priority area for growth. You will support development teams in the UK and across other global locations. What You Will Do Build, deploy and run applications across AWS, VMware and Kubernetes Introduce and grow Kubernetes capability across the estate Maintain automated delivery through pipelines such as GitHub Actions Support containerisation, monitoring and production issue identification Provide technical guidance to development and DevOps colleagues Step into production work occasionally, though IT Operations owns production What We Are Looking For Strong Kubernetes experience (core requirement) Solid AWS experience (core requirement; recent Azure is fine provided you have used AWS) Broad technical knowledge across DevOps and IT, not narrowly siloed Logical problem solving and the ability to reason through design and implementation clearly Useful to have: Terraform, Ansible or Puppet, Docker, ECS or EKS, monitoring tools (Prometheus, ELK, Grafana), Linux and Windows, networking If you want to introduce and grow Kubernetes in a live, AWS-based estate, with global scope across DevOps and development teams, this is worth a conversation.
