A leading high-frequency trading firm is seeking a talented UI Engineer to build sophisticated, high-performance applications used directly by traders, quantitative researchers, and investment professionals. This is a technology-intensive environment where UI engineering goes far beyond traditional web development. You'll work with complex real-time datasets and build responsive applications that provide users with immediate visibility into trading, risk, positions, market data, and performance. The Role Design and build sophisticated trading applications using React and TypeScript/JavaScript. Develop highly responsive interfaces for real-time financial and market data. Build reusable components and scalable front-end architecture. Work directly with traders, quants, and engineers to understand complex workflows and translate them into intuitive applications. Optimize applications for performance when handling large and rapidly changing datasets. Own projects throughout the development lifecycle, from design and architecture through production. Contribute to UI engineering standards and the evolution of the firm's broader front-end platform. Candidate Profile Up to 10 years of professional software engineering experience. Deep expertise in React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript. Strong understanding of front-end architecture, performance optimization, state management, and component design. Professional experience within either financial markets/investment technology or a leading technology/FAANG environment. Strong Computer Science and software engineering fundamentals. Experience developing complex, data-intensive applications rather than primarily consumer-facing websites. Ability to work closely with demanding end users and solve technically challenging problems. Experience with trading systems, market data, visualization, real-time applications, or high-performance UIs is highly desirable. Why Join? You'll join a highly technical trading environment where engineers have direct influence over the tools used to make investment and trading decisions. The role combines the engineering standards and technical challenges of a leading technology company with the pace, ownership, and direct business impact of a high-frequency trading firm.
