Python Backend Developer

Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain backend components using Python. Build and maintain RESTful APIs for web applications. Review and approve pull requests, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices. Design, configure, and maintain backend infrastructure and cloud resources. Troubleshoot and resolve application and production issues. Maintain and enhance shared backend frameworks and reusable components. Contribute to architecture discussions and technical design decisions. Perform additional software development tasks as required. Required Skills & Experience Backend Development 8+ years of experience in backend web application development using Python. Strong understanding of secure coding principles including input validation, data encryption, authentication/authorization, and prevention of common web security vulnerabilities. Strong experience implementing OAuth2 authentication and authorization. Experience writing comprehensive unit tests using pytest or similar frameworks. Web Frameworks 4+ years of experience with Django REST Framework. Experience with FastAPI(preferred). Database Technologies 5+ years of experience with SQL Alchemy, Alembic, PostgreSQL, SQL and NoSQL databases. Experience designing and optimizing database models and queries. Cloud Technologies 2+ years of experience developing applications on Microsoft Azure including App Service, Azure Functions, AKS, Azure Container Apps, Blob Storage, and Key Vault. DevOps & Source Control 5+ years of experience using Git, GitHubor Azure DevOps. Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. Good understanding of DevOps practices and deployment automation. Containerization Docker Docker Compose Kubernetes Scheduling & Background Processing Experience with Celery, Celery Beat / Red Beat, or other Python scheduling frameworks. Additional Skills Experience working in Agile software development environments. Experience supporting production applications and end users. Knowledge of system and API integrations. Experience using Visual Studio Code (Visual Studio is an advantage). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience developing cloud-native enterprise applications. Familiarity with scalable microservices architecture. Experience with secure application design and performance optimization. Experience working in international or globally distributed development teams.
