Role Description Job Title: Senior Front-End Software Engineer – React / Java Location Trivandrum, Kerala Experience 5+ Years Employment Type Full-Time Client / Business Context UST is hiring for a mid to senior-level Software Engineer to work on a client project for one of the largest financial institutions in Canada. The role is part of the Transparency Team , a Front Office development team responsible for building cross-asset automated pricing and risk systems, primarily focused on FICC derivatives . The team works directly with global Sales, Trading, and Quant teams to develop applications incorporating pricing and risk models used for electronic trading. These applications are used globally by Front Office sales and traders and are critical to the client’s trading activities. Role Overview The Transparency Team is looking for a mid to senior-level software engineer in Trivandrum to join the core pricing and risk services development team . The ideal candidate will have strong experience in React, JavaScript, TypeScript, ES6+, HTML, CSS/SASS, React component libraries, unit testing, and high-performance WebSocket messaging . Java experience will be highly desirable. Must-Have Skills 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer 5+ years of strong experience with React Strong experience with JavaScript Strong experience with TypeScript Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with ES6+ language features Experience writing HTML Experience with styling using CSS and SASS Experience writing unit tests for React components Experience with high-performance WebSocket messaging Experience using React component libraries, such as: Mantine Chakra Material UI Other similar React component libraries Strong understanding of Agile and SDLC processes Self-starter with a delivery-focused approach Ability to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously Good-to-Have Skills Java experience Experience working with Scala Experience working with Python 3+ Experience with AngularJS Experience with Solace messaging Experience with Hazelcast distributed computing Experience with ZeroMQ for remote socket communication Experience with serialization technologies: Google Protocol Buffers JSON SBE Experience with Graphite and Grafana for metrics Experience working on RHEL Linux 8+ Experience in pricing and risk systems Experience in FICC derivatives Experience working with Front Office Sales, Trading, or Quant teams Experience developing applications used for electronic trading Skills JavaScript, WebSockets, HTML, CSS, Sass
