Cloud Software Engineer – Java / GCP

For one of our long-term enterprise projects in Switzerland, we are looking for an experienced  Cloud Software Engineer with a strong Java and Google Cloud Platform background  to join our engineering team. You will work closely with Lemza engineers and our client's technology teams on modern, highly scalable systems that support business-critical digital platforms. Your Role As a  Cloud Software Engineer , you will become an important part of an agile engineering environment and contribute to the design, development and operation of modern cloud-native applications. You will take ownership of software components throughout their lifecycle — from architecture and development to deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement. Your Responsibilities Design, develop and continuously improve  modern, scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot Build and maintain cloud-native applications running on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Take responsibility for reliable deployment and operation of complex application environments Monitor and maintain critical integrations and data flows between different systems Contribute to software architecture and technical design decisions Build and maintain infrastructure and deployments using technologies such as Terraform and ArgoCD Implement high engineering standards through automated testing, monitoring and software development best practices Work with CI/CD pipelines , particularly GitHub Actions Use modern  AI-assisted development tools  professionally to accelerate development, code generation and engineering productivity Evaluate new technologies and developments, particularly around  AI-powered software engineering and automation Collaborate closely with developers, architects, product teams and other technical stakeholders Actively contribute your knowledge and support other engineers within the team Participate in an agile development environment using methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban and SAFe Your Profile We are looking for an engineer who combines strong software development fundamentals with modern cloud engineering experience. Ideally, you bring: Several years of professional experience in  Java software development Strong hands-on knowledge of Java and Spring Boot Experience designing and developing microservice architectures Practical experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Experience with technologies such as: Java / Spring Boot Google Cloud Platform MS SQL Server Terraform ArgoCD Git / GitHub GitHub Actions Good understanding of  CI/CD, automated deployments and DevOps practices Experience with testing, application monitoring and production-grade software environments Professional use of AI coding and development tools Familiarity with agile software development methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban or SAFe A degree or higher education in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field , or equivalent professional experience Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to take ownership and work independently while being a strong team player Good  English communication skills German language skills are considered a strong advantage.
