Role Description The Senior Software Engineer (Primarily Frontend) will design, develop, and maintain user-facing features for Wild Zebra’s AI-powered learning platform. This full-time, hybrid role is based in the Greater Seattle Area, with flexibility for partial work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include building performant and accessible web interfaces, collaborating with product and design teams on feature requirements, and integrating frontend components with backend services and APIs. The role also involves writing clean, maintainable code, performing code reviews, improving application reliability and scalability, and participating in architectural discussions. The engineer will help refine development processes, mentor other team members, and contribute to a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement. Qualifications Foundational knowledge in Computer Science and Software Development, including algorithms, data structures, and system design. Strong Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) skills with experience in modern languages and frameworks commonly used for web applications. Experience in Back-End Web Development, including working with APIs, microservices, and database-driven applications. Extensive frontend engineering experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (such as React, Vue, or similar), HTML, CSS, and responsive UI development. Comfort with version control (Git), CI/CD workflows, testing frameworks, and performance optimization techniques. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, collaborate across disciplines, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Prior experience building scalable, production-grade web applications; experience in edtech or AI-driven products is beneficial. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Compensation and benefits The expected base salary range for this Seattle-based role is $145,000–$180,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, and role scope. The position also includes equity and employee benefits, including health coverage and paid time off. Final benefit eligibility and terms are governed by the applicable plans and policies.
