Technical Lead, Platform

Responsibilities Lead the architecture and development of Python-based backend services. Design scalable, secure, and maintainable REST APIs. Make technical and architectural decisions for backend platform capabilities. Develop and review production-grade Python code. Design scalable microservices and distributed systems. Improve application monitoring, debugging, performance, and reliability. Mentor engineers and establish strong backend engineering practices. Partner with product, operations, and business stakeholders on technical delivery. Role Requirements 8+ years of backend software engineering experience. Expert-level Python programming skills. Deep understanding of core Python concepts, libraries, and development practices. Strong experience building production backend services and APIs. Experience with Django, Flask, and/or FastAPI. Strong SQL, database design, and data-modeling experience. Experience designing scalable APIs, microservices, or distributed systems. Demonstrated architecture and system-design capabilities. Experience providing hands-on technical leadership and mentoring engineers. Strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities. Nice to Have AWS experience including services such as EC2, Lambda, RDS, or S3. Experience with SQLAlchemy or similar ORM technologies. Event-driven architecture experience. Lending, fintech, or financial-services technology experience. Experience within a smaller or growth-oriented technology organization.
