Description

A fast-growing event technology business is hiring a Product Engineer to help build and scale a collaborative digital platform used by events and venues around the world. This is a front end focused role working primarily with React and TypeScript, with the opportunity to gain exposure to Python and Django on the backend. You’ll work closely with Product and Design to deliver new features, improve performance and contribute to the evolution of a highly visual, real-time product. Role: Product Engineer Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 Location: Fully remote, UK based What you'll be doing Build and maintain frontend features using React and TypeScript. Work on highly interactive, real-time product experiences. Collaborate closely with Product, Design and Engineering to deliver high-quality features. Contribute to architecture decisions and frontend technology improvements. Build and maintain automated tests using tools such as Vitest and Playwright. Integrate frontend features with backend APIs. Support performance optimisation, observability and technical debt reduction. Contribute to code reviews, knowledge sharing and team development. Gain exposure to Python and Django as part of the wider engineering stack. What you'll need Around 3+ years of commercial software engineering experience with a strong focus on React. Strong React and TypeScript skills. Good understanding of state management, ideally with experience using Zustand or similar. Experience integrating frontend applications with backend APIs. Strong understanding of unit, integration and automated testing. Experience working in Agile product engineering environments. Comfortable contributing to technical discussions and product decisions. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Experience with Python or Django would be a strong advantage, but is not essential. Nice to have Experience with geospatial, mapping or canvas-based applications. Exposure to tools such as ArcGIS, Konva.js or WebGL. Experience with Playwright, React Testing Library or Vitest. Understanding of CI/CD, Docker and modern DevOps practices. This role would suit a mid-level frontend engineer who wants to stay hands-on with React, work on a technically interesting product and gradually broaden into backend development over time
