Lead Frontend Developer

About the Role: One of Australia’s household names — servicing millions of customers across 18+ sites nationally — is investing seriously in technology for the first time in its history. We’re hiring a Lead Frontend Developer to join the team building the customer-facing auction platform: multi-branded websites and the mobile experience customers use to bid, buy and sell every day. About You: This role is a blend of technical leadership, engineering management and delivery ownership. Day to day, you'll be shipping code, reviewing architecture decisions and mentoring engineers. You’ll join a small, tight-knit team already delivering strong results, in a business that’s profitable, family-owned, and backing engineering with real investment. What you'll be doing: Leading a team of ~4 engineers day to day, including performance conversations Owning delivery outcomes end to end, catching slippage before it becomes a problem Staying hands-on with front-end architecture (React/Next.js, TypeScript) What we’re looking for: Recent, hands-on React/Next.js/TypeScript experience with real architectural input Proven experience managing a small team (3-6 people) directly Comfortable operating across technical, people and delivery responsibilities The offer: Flexible hybrid working with 2 days in the Sydney office A warm, no-ego, family-first culture with real investment in people The chance to help build a platform used by millions of Australians
