Your Role As a Medior Backend Engineer, you'll join one of our cross-functional Agile development squads and play an important role in building scalable, high-performing backend systems that power our digital platforms. We're looking for someone who is passionate about technology, enjoys solving complex challenges, and is motivated to push the boundaries of what's possible in e-commerce. Together with your team, you'll contribute to innovative solutions that deliver exceptional customer experiences. Essential What You'll Bring 3+ years of experience in backend software development Strong experience with Java or Kotlin and Spring Boot Solid understanding of microservices architecture, API design, and event-driven systems Experience working with databases, caching technologies, and message brokers/queues Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and software quality practices Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills Nice to Have Experience within e-commerce or other high-transaction environments Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP A customer-first mindset and a passion for creating impactful user experiences Who You Are An excellent communicator with strong English language skills Proactive, pragmatic, and comfortable taking ownership Continuously seeking opportunities to learn and improve Currently living in the Netherlands What We Offer Gross monthly salary between €3,943 and €5,632 (based on a 40-hour workweek Performance and profit-sharing bonuses Pension contribution Vitality budget to support your well-being 30 vacation days to recharge and enjoy life outside of work Attractive employee discount on purchases at de Bijenkorf Why The Bijenkorf?
