Description

We are looking for an experienced Technical Implementation Engineer with a strong product engineering background to join a team delivering a market-leading platform for real-time payment processing. You will be an experienced engineer who thrives in collaborative Agile environments and enjoys solving complex technical problems. You should be comfortable taking ownership, contributing to technical direction, and continuously looking for ways to improve both the product and the engineering process. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain high-performance software for a real-time payments platform. Build scalable, resilient applications using Java, Spring and reactive technologies . Contribute to technical design, architecture and engineering decisions. Develop clean, reusable and maintainable code following TDD/BDD practices. Work within an Agile/Kanban environment to deliver complex technical solutions. Improve application performance, scalability and reliability. Contribute to CI/CD, automation and continuous engineering improvements. Participate in a Level 4 on-call rota (1 week in 4) . Key Requirements Payments experience is essential - payment schemes, SEPA, CHAPS, BACS Strong commercial experience with Java 11+ and Spring , with experience in reactive programming. Good understanding of asynchronous processing and distributed systems . Experience developing event-driven and/or event-sourced applications . Experience with CI/CD and automated software delivery . Strong Agile development experience, ideally within Scrum or Kanban teams. Experience with Akka or another reactive framework . Exposure to messaging technologies such as Kafka or JMS . Experience with Docker/Kubernetes and/or DevOps practices is advantageous. Knowledge of Angular, Ansible, Unix scripting or MongoDB would be beneficial.
