Description
Software Engineer – Medical Devices Join us and make a difference! Navier Medical is a growing software medical device and services company. Our mission is to improve the assessment and outcomes for patients at risk of heart disease. We’re developing novel heart image analysis methodologies for cardiologists and radiology practices worldwide, to identify patients at risk and provide better care. With our first-generation medical device FDA cleared, we’re now scaling that platform for global operations. About the role This is a specialist Software Engineer position within a Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) environment. You will work within our ISO 13485 quality management system, applying medical device software lifecycle practices, contributing to regulatory documentation, and helping our product meet FDA, TGA and European regulatory requirements. Core aspects of the role include: Building the integrations that let our software exchange medical images and patient data with the clinical systems used by radiology practices and hospitals; image archives (PACS), electronic medical records, and radiology information systems. Developing the local and cloud interfaces that embed our AI-based cardiac image analysis directly into radiologists' reading workflows, running securely across on-site clinical environments and our AWS cloud platform. You will work within our Perth-based Engineering / R&D team. Essential experience At least 5 years' commercial experience developing and maintaining Java and cloud-based software. Direct experience developing software as a medical device under an ISO 13485 quality management system and the IEC 62304 software lifecycle standard. Hands-on experience integrating clinical software with hospital or radiology practice image archive (PACS) systems using the DICOM standard. Familiarity with the regulatory documentation and evidence expected by the FDA and/or the TGA. Experience deploying and operating software in AWS or a comparable cloud environment, including secure handling of patient health information. A working understanding of radiology clinical workflows — how imaging studies move from acquisition through reporting, AI-assisted analysis, and archive. Desirable experience Deploying AI or machine learning models in medical imaging or diagnostic contexts. Prior work with cardiac imaging — echocardiography, cardiac CT, cardiac MRI, or coronary angiography. Configuring continuous integration / continuous delivery pipelines and DevOps automation. Cybersecurity threat modelling and risk assessment for medical devices. About you You are motivated by building safe, effective medical software for patients. You enjoy the mix of hands-on engineering, regulated-industry rigour, and product ownership that a growing medical device company offers. You communicate clearly with both technical teammates and non-technical stakeholders such as clinicians and regulators, and you take pride in shipping high-quality work. How to apply Apply on LinkedIn and attach your CV and a brief cover note describing your medical device software experience.
