About the Client Our client is a well-established US technology company in the fintech domain, providing modern digital financial solutions to millions of customers. The team works on large-scale cloud-native platforms, leveraging modern engineering practices and distributed systems technologies. What You'll Do Own and deliver quarterly objectives for your team, leading engineers through ambiguity to solve complex, open-ended problems and ensuring successful execution. Collaborate closely with Product Management, Design, and Analytics teams throughout the product development lifecycle, contributing to ideation, defining technical constraints, and helping evaluate risks and trade-offs. Proactively identify project, process, technology, or business challenges and take a leading role in driving solutions. Support the reliability and availability of services owned by your team by defining and monitoring key metrics, participating in incident management, and contributing to operational excellence and on-call activities. Foster a culture of quality, engineering excellence, and ownership by establishing and promoting best practices for software design, architecture, and code reviews. Mentor and support other engineers by providing constructive feedback, sharing knowledge, and leading by example. What We're Looking For 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and delivering scalable backend systems using technologies such as Python, Kotlin, or similar programming languages. Proven experience building and maintaining highly available distributed systems in cloud environments, leveraging technologies such as AWS, MySQL, Spark, or equivalent platforms. Strong ability to define and execute technical plans for significant features or system components, with a focus on scalable, maintainable, and extensible design. Experience working within large codebases, implementing substantial changes safely through engineering best practices, automation, testing, and deployment processes. Demonstrated ownership mindset with a commitment to continuous learning, professional growth, and proactive feedback. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across distributed and global engineering teams. Nice to Have Experience working in high-scale, customer-facing platforms. Knowledge of microservices architecture and event-driven systems. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and modern DevOps practices. Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction across teams.
