GTM Engineer - Clay, GTM, Python - £100K - London (In Office)

A fast-growing, revenue-generating AI startup building an AI-powered front desk product for a UK service-industry vertical. The product handles calls, emails and messages around the clock, qualifies inbound leads and books appointments automatically, and already manages the majority of that workload without human intervention. The company is live with paying customers across the UK. A GTM Engineer role: a highly technical seat that builds the systems the commercial side of the business runs on, starting with sales and marketing. This is an engineering seat pointed at go-to-market, not a pre-sales role — you are not here to run demos or write integration docs. You are here to build the systems the commercial team, and eventually the wider business, runs on. Requirements Real developer experience: production code (Python, TypeScript or similar), comfortable with APIs and data, and able to query a database directly. 2–5 years of experience. This does not need to have been in a role like this one, as long as the skills are there — engineering, technical product, data, consulting, a startup, or personal projects all count. A strong technical degree (engineering, maths, computer science, physics or similar) from a leading Russell Group university, or the international equivalent. LLMs in everything you do, and something built well beyond a prompt: agents, tool use, retrieval, evaluation, or a workflow that runs unattended. Evidence required, not just the claim. Evidence of building automation a business depended on, ideally near sales or marketing. Commercial instinct: you know a funnel, and can tell a metric moving from a metric mattering. Comfortable with data quality work: enrichment, matching, deduplication, and recognising when a dataset is lying to you. High ownership and a bias to shipping: happy to sit with non-technical colleagues, watch them work, and put something in their hands within days. Ability to translate business issues into actionable insights.
