Software Engineer III

IDR is seeking a  Software Engineer III  to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Los Angeles, California. This role focuses on building and evolving content-creation tooling and workflows for an innovative R&D initiative, partnering closely with artists, designers, and engineers. You’ll help translate emerging technologies into practical tools that improve iteration speed, quality, and creative efficiency. Position Overview for the Software Engineer III: Design, develop, and maintain artist- and designer-facing tools that support modern content creation workflows Partner with cross-disciplinary stakeholders to gather requirements, propose solutions, and deliver usable features Provide technical leadership through design reviews, implementation guidance, and setting quality standards Contribute hands-on to a shared codebase, emphasizing maintainability, performance, and reliability Mentor and support other engineers, helping elevate team practices and outcomes Requirements for the Software Engineer III: 6+ years of professional game development experience, including meaningful contributions to shipped titles 3+ years building tools for cross-disciplinary teams (artists/designers/engineers) with strong stakeholder collaboration skills Professional experience developing tools in Unreal Engine (UE4 or UE5) Experience creating extensions or pipelines for modern digital content creation tools (e.g., Maya, Photoshop) Proficiency with modern cross-platform UI/tooling frameworks (e.g., Qt, Electron, or web-based frameworks such as React) and solid knowledge of software design patterns What's in it for you?
