Full Stack Software Engineer

AI, Web, Mobile, Cloud and IoT Spectur is a leading Australian technology company delivering safety, security and operational monitoring solutions across government, infrastructure, industrial and community environments. Our platform combines solar/off grid hardware and cloud software, artificial intelligence, computer vision, video, IoT devices and mobile applications. We are seeking an Intermediate Full Stack Software Engineer to join us and help build, improve and support the Spectur platform. This is a hands-on engineering role covering frontend applications, backend services, APIs, databases, cloud systems and external integrations. Artificial intelligence will be central to both how you work and what you build. The Role Working with our product, engineering and cloud teams, you will: Develop and maintain web and mobile application features Build backend services and RESTful APIs Integrate with IoT devices, cameras, customer systems and third-party platforms Develop AI-enabled features, automation and computer vision integrations Use AI coding tools for development, testing, debugging, refactoring and documentation Design and maintain databases, queues and event-driven workflows Investigate production issues and improve performance and reliability Write automated tests and participate in code reviews Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments Take features from requirements through to production support About You You will have: Around 3 to 6 years of professional software development experience Strong full-stack development experience across frontend and backend systems Experience with C#, .NET, Node.js, Java or a similar backend technology Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and a modern frontend framework such as Vue, React, Angular or Blazor Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs Practical experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases Experience with cloud-hosted applications in Azure, AWS or similar Working knowledge of Git, Docker and automated deployment pipelines Experience troubleshooting production applications and integrations A practical commitment to testing, maintainability and software quality Experience with web and mobile applications, MongoDB, SQL Server, MySQL, Redis, Azure, AWS or Kubernetes will be highly regarded. AI Experience You do not need to be a machine-learning researcher, but you should be comfortable using AI as a serious engineering tool. Experience in any of the following will be valuable: GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Codex or similar tools AI APIs and large language models Computer vision or image processing Structured AI outputs and workflow automation Local or cloud-hosted AI models Python-based AI or data processing services You must be able to understand, test and take responsibility for AI-generated code. Particularly Relevant Experience Exposure to any of the following will be advantageous: IoT and edge-connected devices CCTV, video streaming or image processing RTSP, WebRTC or HLS Mobile or cross-platform application development Event-driven systems and message queues Government, infrastructure, or security systems Containerised applications Most importantly, you are a practical engineer who enjoys building complete products, solving real problems and working across the full application stack.
