Senior Software Engineer, Compute Platform (Python/AWS) | Elite Boston Hedge Fund One of the top Quant Hedge Funds globally has an exciting opportunity to join a small team that is designing and building their next-gen research platform. This is a rapidly growing group that’s had exceptional performance over the past decade. They’re a heavily engineering driven firm with a highly collaborative, team-first culture. This is a high ownership, high visibility seat working directly with Quant Researchers to build the compute platform, observability, and AI systems (among several others) that power their automated, model-driven trading systems. Great opportunity to work with a cutting edge, modern open-source tech stack to build cloud native solutions from scratch that directly drive revenue in a measurable, tangible way every single day! Responsibilities: Design, build, and operate the core platforms that power quant research, portfolio construction, and automated trading workflows Partner closely with quantitative researchers, traders, and other engineers to translate complex research and operational requirements into robust, scalable systems Develop and maintain high-performance, distributed compute and workflow platforms spanning on‑premise and cloud environments Build and evolve cloud-native infrastructure using modern containerization, orchestration, and infrastructure‑as‑code tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines) Manage and optimize compute, storage, and data infrastructure to support large‑scale research workloads and time‑sensitive trading systems Contribute to architectural decisions around workflow orchestration, data platforms, access controls, and dependency management across a heterogeneous technology stack Build tooling and internal services that enable efficient data analysis, modeling, backtesting, simulation, and strategy deployment Qualifications: Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering (or similar field) At least 4+ years of experience building applications or platforms with Python and AWS Experience working with complex, large scale distributed systems Benefits: Industry leading compensation and benefits Hybrid flexibility in Boston office Chance to join a high-visibility and impact engineering team building the most business-critical investment technology and quant research systems
