Python Developer

K&K Social Resources & Development GmbH is an international recruitment agency that has been providing technical resources in the European region since 1993. This position is with one of our clients in Germany, which is actively hiring candidates to expand its team. Title: Python Developer Location: Munich, Germany (Remote) Employment Type: 6-Month Contract (Extendable) Role: We are looking for a Python Software Engineer to join a team developing software tools for scientific and data-intensive applications. This role focuses on building reliable Python applications for processing large datasets, data validation, metadata management, and automation in a quality-controlled environment. This is not a traditional backend or frontend development role . You'll work closely with scientists and domain experts to design and develop Python tools that support research workflows and data processing. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain Python-based applications and utilities. Build and enhance data ingestion, validation, and metadata processing pipelines. Develop tools for data quality checks, integrity validation, and dataset management. Create lightweight Python-based user interfaces where required. Gather technical requirements from stakeholders and translate them into software solutions. Write clean, maintainable, well-tested, and well-documented Python code. Develop automated tests and contribute to CI/CD, packaging, and deployment processes. Troubleshoot, maintain, and improve existing Python applications. Required Skills: Strong hands-on experience with Python development. Experience working with data processing, data transformation, and file-based pipelines . Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, testing, and code quality. Experience with SQL and relational databases. Ability to design simple, scalable, and maintainable solutions. Self-driven with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Preferred Skills: Experience with image processing libraries such as OpenCV, scikit-image, or Pillow (PIL) . Experience with Pandas , NumPy , or similar Python data-processing libraries. Experience with Docker , GitHub Actions, CI/CD, and packaging. Experience with Snowflake , dbt , or other data warehousing technologies. Experience building lightweight Python UIs using Streamlit , Gradio , NiceGUI , or similar frameworks. Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools is an advantage.
