Senior Software Engineer - Java/Springboot

This is an exciting opportunity to join a major global consulting and digital transformation organisation, recognised for delivering large-scale solutions across some of the UK’s most influential sectors. Their teams partner with government departments, financial services institutions, energy companies, major retailers, and other household-name enterprises to modernise services used by millions. Salary range of £60,000 - £70,000 & £4k bonus. The role will be mostly remote with very occasional office travel to client sites (likely to be 1/2x per month) to either London, Manchester, Newcastle, or Glasgow. You will be able to pick a location nearest to you. As a Senior Java Full Stack Engineer , you’ll work on complex, high-visibility projects—building modern, scalable digital products that drive real business change. You’ll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and gain exposure to a wide variety of technologies, including Java, Spring Boot, Kotlin, Node.js, React, microservices, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) . 🔍 What We’re Looking For Required 5 years commercial software engineering experience Strong experience building microservices with Java (Spring Boot) Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript , including building front-end applications with React , HTML , and CSS Solid experience with Git and platforms like GitHub/GitLab Hands-on experience with Docker and Docker Compose Experience with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) Experience with AWS or Azure cloud environments Comfortable working within an agile delivery environment Desirable Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform) Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB preferred) or SQL such as Postgres Understanding of web standards, accessibility , and engineering best practices
