Job Description As the first dedicated backend and infrastructure hire at AethexAI Inc, you will own the Python, AWS, and Kubernetes stack end-to-end. You will build and scale the core infrastructure for a real-time voice AI platform, making architectural decisions that define the company's technical foundation while serving high-growth markets across Africa and the Middle East. Build production-scale real-time voice AI technology specifically designed for underserved, high-growth emerging markets in Africa and the Middle East. Secure a foundational role with meaningful equity in a pre-seed startup, working directly on core systems that will shape the company's future. What You Will Do Design and scale the core Python backend and AWS infrastructure to support high-performance, real-time voice AI workloads. Implement and manage Kubernetes clusters to ensure high availability and robust performance across diverse geographic regions. Lead foundational architectural decisions that establish the reliability, security, and scalability of the AethexAI Inc platform from the ground up. The ideal candidate Proven experience as a Senior Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Python and production AWS cloud environments. Strong background in container orchestration using Kubernetes and a track record of building scalable, distributed infrastructure systems.
