Cyber Security Manager

Position: Senior Manager – Cyber Security + AI Location: Bangalore, India Experience: 12+ years Reporting To: Associate Director - Cyber Defense Department: Information Security (InfoSec) Role Overview Flipkart is seeking a seasoned and hands-on security leader to join as Senior Manager – Security Operations. This role is critical to driving Flipkart’s secure-by-design vision, and will be directly responsible for designing and implementing security monitoring and operations across our infrastructure platforms, hybrid cloud environments, and core orchestration layers. Key Responsibilities ● Security Operations Leadership ○ Lead the day-to-day operations of the Cyber Security team, including Security Operations Center (SOC, Threat Detection, and Threat Intelligence) ○ Build and enhance capabilities for 24x7 monitoring and response to security incidents. ○ Manage outsourced Security Operations Centre partner and team ● Threat Management ○ Drive the development and tuning of detection use-cases, playbooks, and alerting mechanisms using SIEM and XDR tools. ○ Oversee proactive threat hunting and threat intelligence integration to detect advanced persistent threats (APT) and reduce dwell time. ● Incident Response & Crisis Management ○ Lead and coordinate high-impact incident response efforts, including root cause analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery. ○ Conduct regular incident response simulations and tabletop exercises with stakeholders. ● Security Engineering & Automation ○ Partner with the security engineering team to design and implement detection and response automation. ○ Drive continuous improvement of detection logic and response workflows. ● Metrics & Reporting ○ Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for security operations. ○ Present operational metrics, risk trends, and incident learnings to leadership on a regular basis. ● Team Building & People Leadership ○ Hire, coach, and lead a high-performing team of security operations team. ○ Define KPIs, skill development plans, and performance management processes. ○ Mentor team members to build deep technical specialization as well as cross-functional collaboration skills. ● Stakeholder Collaboration ○ Work closely with IT Infra Leads, DevOps, SREs, and Platform Product Owners to embed security into their roadmaps. Collaborate with IT, product, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to embed security into operations and system design. ○ Participate in architecture governance forums and design discussions for infra/platform initiatives. ○ Drive internal education programs and threat modeling workshops to improve security awareness across tech teams. ○ Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders during security incidents and audits. Desired Skills and Qualifications Experience: 12+ years in security operations, engineering, infrastructure security, or platform security roles in large-scale tech environments. Cloud Platforms: Strong hands-on experience with GCP security architecture, controls, and services. Security Tooling: Experience with Security Operations, SIEM tools - Azure Sentinel, Google Chronicle, cloud posture management (e.g., Wiz, Prisma Cloud), vulnerability management, IAM, and secrets management (e.g., Vault). Soft Skills: Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills. Ability to balance strategic thinking with deep technical execution.
