About The Company Allen Control Systems (ACS) is an innovative defense technology startup founded by two former Navy electrical engineers with extensive experience in robotics and software development. Our organization is dedicated to creating advanced autonomous systems, exemplified by our development of an autonomous gun turret utilizing cutting-edge computer vision and control systems. These systems are designed to accurately detect, track, and neutralize enemy drones, showcasing our commitment to technological excellence and real-world impact. With a strong engineering-first culture, ACS emphasizes innovation, precision, and reliability in all our projects. Our founders' successful exits from two previous ventures, acquired for a combined total of $180 million in 2022, reflect our strategic vision and operational excellence. Backed by this proven track record, we are poised to lead in the defense startup space, delivering groundbreaking solutions that enhance national security and technological advancement. About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated mid-level full stack developer to join our Enterprise Applications team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying robust enterprise-grade applications that support critical business operations across the organization. You will work across the entire technology stack, from database architecture and backend services to responsive front-end interfaces, ensuring the delivery of scalable, reliable, and secure software solutions. Your contributions will directly impact our internal systems and client-facing platforms, enabling seamless integration and operational efficiency. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where innovation and technical excellence are valued. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, stakeholders, and fellow developers, to translate complex requirements into effective technical solutions, continuously improving our development processes and product offerings. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess 3 to 6 years of professional experience in full stack software development. You should demonstrate proficiency in at least one modern front-end framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.js, coupled with strong back-end development skills in server-side languages like C#, Java, Python, or Node.js. Experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL, including writing complex queries, is essential. A solid understanding of RESTful API design principles and integration patterns is required. Familiarity with software development methodologies, design patterns, and version control systems like Git is expected. You should be comfortable working in an agile environment, engaging in code reviews, sprint planning, and retrospectives. Strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a passion for continuous learning are critical to success in this role. Prior professional experience in software development is preferred, along with exposure to enterprise applications and cloud platforms. Responsibilities Your key responsibilities will include designing, developing, testing, and deploying full stack enterprise applications that meet organizational needs. You will optimize existing software for performance, scalability, and security, ensuring robust and maintainable solutions. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will translate business requirements into technical specifications and develop solutions that integrate seamlessly with enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, and third-party platforms via APIs and middleware. You will be responsible for writing clean, well-documented code following industry standards and best practices. Participating actively in the full software development lifecycle, you will conduct code reviews, contribute to architectural discussions, and help improve development processes through continuous feedback. Additionally, you will troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues, while continuously seeking opportunities to enhance application performance and security across all layers of the stack.
