Senior Software Engineer (Java/Angular) – Onsite in Buckhead or Alpharetta – Contract to Hire Optomi, in partnership with a leading telecommunications organization, is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join a team driving large-scale modernization of critical operational platforms. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on designing and building modern full stack applications that support automation, workflow orchestration, and operational systems. The ideal candidate is a strong Java and Angular developer who enjoys building scalable solutions while helping modernize enterprise platforms through cloud technologies and AI-driven capabilities. What the right professional will enjoy: The opportunity to work on software impacting billions of customers The ability to develop innovative products that have a global impact Joining on a highly visible team with opportunities for career growth Working with modern technologies, cloud platforms, and AI development technologies Technical Environment: Java, Spring Boot, Angular, TypeScript, REST APIs, Microservices, Kafka, Azure, SQL/NoSQL, Git, CI/CD, GenAI, Agentic AI, Python Responsibilities: Design, develop, test, and maintain full stack enterprise applications using Java and Angular Build scalable backend services, REST APIs, microservices, and modern web applications Develop solutions supporting workflow automation, orchestration, and operational processes Integrate AI-enabled capabilities, including Generative AI and Agentic AI, into enterprise applications Collaborate with architects, product owners, engineers, and QA teams to deliver scalable, production-ready software. Modernize legacy applications using cloud-native architecture and DevOps best practices. Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, troubleshooting, and production support. Develop reusable frameworks and automation components that improve engineering efficiency. Experience of the right candidate: 5+ years of full stack software development experience Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Angular Experience building REST APIs and microservices Cloud experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and modern DevOps practices Experience with Generative AI, AI-assisted development, or LLM integrations is highly preferred Experience working within large-scale enterprise applications, operational systems, or workflow platforms is a plus
