Description

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Java Developer role based in Bucharest. The Senior Java Developer will design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java applications, services, and APIs. The role includes collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, reviewing code, and mentoring less-experienced developers. Responsibilities also involve optimizing performance, ensuring application security and reliability, and contributing to architectural decisions and best practices. The Senior Java Developer will participate in the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, implementation, testing, and deployment. Qualifications Strong proficiency in Java and related frameworks such as Spring/Spring Boot, with experience designing and implementing scalable, maintainable applications. Solid understanding of software architecture, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and microservices or modular application design. Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, SQL, and data modeling, as well as integrating applications with external services and APIs. Knowledge of build tools, version control (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and modern development practices such as automated testing and code review. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization, and deployment automation is highly beneficial. Ability to analyze complex problems, propose robust solutions, and work effectively in cross-functional, agile teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative mindset, with experience mentoring and supporting other developers. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; prior experience in a senior or lead developer role is preferred.
