Senior Full-Stack Engineer – NestJS / TypeScript / AWS Remote with 2x per month to Crawley (RH10) - travel expenses paid up to £90k plus benefits Must be UK based - we are not able to sponsor visas TrueNorth are looking for an experienced Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join a team building a brand-new digital product from the ground up. This is a full-stack position, but the strongest emphasis is on backend engineering. You’ll be responsible for shaping and delivering the core services behind the platform, while also contributing to the mobile application and ensuring features work seamlessly across the full technology stack. The environment is technically complex, so this role needs someone who is comfortable taking the lead on architecture, influencing technical direction and working closely with other engineering teams using different technologies. The experience we’re looking for: Strong commercial experience with NestJS, Node.js and TypeScript A track record of making backend design and architecture decisions Hands-on knowledge of PostgreSQL and Redis Some experience building or integrating mobile applications with React Native and Expo Familiarity with Auth0 or comparable identity and access management tools Practical experience with Docker and AWS ECS Good understanding of software engineering principles and common design approaches Confidence owning delivery without needing close technical supervision A strong focus on code quality, test automation and maintainability What you’ll be working on: Creating reliable and scalable APIs and services with Node.js, TypeScript and NestJS Taking features from initial technical design through to production release Supporting mobile development and integration using React Native and Expo Structuring and improving PostgreSQL databases Using Redis to improve performance and support caching and session requirements Delivering secure login, permissions and user access journeys through Auth0 Building and running containerised applications with Docker Deploying services into AWS ECS environments Improving automated delivery pipelines for backend and mobile releases Establishing strong unit, integration and end-to-end testing practices Working across teams to agree technical approaches and integration points This would be a great fit for someone who enjoys building new products, solving complex technical problems and having genuine influence over how a platform is designed and delivered.
