AI Researcher We are partnering with our client, an innovative AI product company expanding across Japan and the United States, to hire an AI Researcher for their Applied Research Team in Tokyo. You will be part of a small, high-impact team (currently four members), working closely with global and Japan-based colleagues to build a next-generation AI Analytics Agent powered by Large Language Models. Reporting directly to a Co-founder, you will help transform complex analytical processes and tacit expert knowledge into scalable, automated workflows that become core product capabilities. Both: Japanese (Internal Business use) and English (Conversational) language skills required Key Skills and Experience Analytical workflow design - Breaking down expert analysts' decision-making, heuristics, and best practices into structured, repeatable logic that AI agents can follow. Data analytics and AI applications - At least three years of hands-on experience in enterprise data analytics, AI-driven solutions, or business process optimization. Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) - Designing robust EDA processes, target variable definitions, evaluation methodologies, and aggregation logic. Predictive analytics and optimization - Practical understanding of modelling and optimization techniques to drive actionable insights. Python for data processing - Strong ability to process, transform, and analyze data using Python in a professional environment. Software development practices - Familiarity with testing, maintenance, and integrating prototypes into production-grade applications. LLMs and generative AI - Experience working with Large Language Models, prompt engineering, and evaluation design, ideally including AI agent development. Causal inference methods - Practical exposure to techniques such as Uplift Modeling, Difference-in-Differences, and Propensity Score Matching is highly valued. Interested?
