Software Test Engineer (Java, AWS, SQL) - 897

Open to Peoria, IL as well Role and Overview of the role About Team Team comprised of five individuals. Kind of have crossover between different other teams that also support data test team. Have a lot of collaboration among different teams. Intent is to improve quality and data space and processes. Team typically do Helios data test. Team take a lot of data that they have in their snowflake and applying a series of business rules across this data. These are usually based on customer found defects. So when a customer comes through and says this data doesn't look correct. They check it and assure that they have a rule in place so that these defects don't propagate through. Basically try to catch them before the end customer catches them. Developing this for a couple of years but they are also taking it to the next stage of this not just looking at issues as they come in but also trying to find issues before they get propagated to the customer at all. So tracing back through data pipeline. About Position Currently looking for someone that is going to support daily activities across data pipelines and workflows and platform operations. Focusing on creating and executing tests. Meet data quality standards and rules. Work with data steward and data engineering. Top Skills l SQL l Java/Springboot l AWS (or other cloud services) Position’s Contributions to Work Group : - Builds and executes tests for data pipelines to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and quality across platform processes. - Supports operational monitoring and issue resolution to maintain stable and efficient data flow. - Identifies defects, validates fixes, and partners with cross-functional teams to improve data quality and reduce production risk. - Helps improve team efficiency by supporting repeatable test practices, operational readiness, and continuous process improvement. Typical task breakdown: - Test design and execution - Defect identification and validation - Root Cause Analysis and process improvements - Cross-functional collaboration between Data Engineering and Data Stewards Interaction with team : - Team is Helios data test, working with roughly 5 individuals. Plus 2 leads/mgr from data engineering. Work environment : Will need to come into office as needed/when asked. That could be 2-3 times a week. Candidates must be local. Education & Experience Required: - 1-2 years experience in software test and/or software development Required Technical Skills (Required) - SQL (Snowflake) - Java/Springboot - AWS (or other cloud services) Soft Skills (Required) - Critical and Analytical thinking - Strong communication - Detail Orientated - Quality Focus
