You'll partner closely with existing technical leadership to set direction and own the day-to-day execution that turns vision into shipped product. You should be passionate about designing and iterating on development processes, leveraging AI tools, helping the team perform at their best, and solving varied problems as the company grows. No specific prior title is required, as long as you have experience working with a team to improve processes and output. Responsibilities Engineering Leadership & Execution: Lead and mentor the engineering team across backend, frontend, and QA Own the overall technical architecture and make key decisions on system design and technology choices Diagnose and eliminate the bottlenecks slowing delivery, implementing improvements quickly Establish clear delivery metrics, sprint cadences, and accountability frameworks to accelerate feature delivery Build and scale the processes, tools, and practices that enable faster, more reliable releases Product & Roadmap Management: Partner with leadership to define product vision and translate business objectives into technical roadmaps Own and prioritize the engineering roadmap, balancing new features, technical debt, and infrastructure Coordinate across backend, frontend, and QA to ensure alignment and efficient delivery Drive sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives to maintain development momentum AI Execution: Define and maintain a playbook of AI-driven development best practices, evolving it as tools and techniques mature Evaluate, pilot, and deploy AI tooling that brings AI capabilities into production environments Identify high-value points across the product to embed AI, integrating intelligence into user and operational workflows Deep prior AI experience is not required for this role. What matters is curiosity and a willingness to learn fast: We expect you to grow into AI leadership, and you'll have access to AI expertise across the Metro Global portfolio of companies to help. What We're Looking For 6+ years of software engineering experience 3+ years in engineering leadership: direct reports not necessary, so long as you've worked to improve a team's development velocity through teamwork/process improvement Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders Experience implementing engineering metrics and KPIs A strong, hands-on technical background with modern web application architectures Experience with Java backend development and a modern frontend framework Solid understanding of CI/CD, DevOps practices, and cloud infrastructure Comfort working in fast-paced, iterative environments A willingness to learn and apply AI in a production setting Experience at a similar-stage or high-growth company is a plus. If you feel your resume alone does not sufficiently capture your ability to perform in the role, you may attach a cover letter to your resume.
