Senior Backend Developer | Java | Spring Boot | Hybrid| Contract Role Location: London (Hybrid) 3 days per week in office. Salary: Competitive + Benefits Contract Length: 12 month rolling We're working with a leading global organisation looking to hire a Senior Backend Developer to join a high-performing engineering team. This is an opportunity to work on large-scale, enterprise-grade backend platforms, helping to shape technical architecture while building robust, scalable Java applications. What You'll Do Design and develop backend applications using Java and Spring Boot Build and enhance scalable microservices and REST APIs Drive architectural decisions focused on performance, security and scalability Work across the full software development lifecycle, from design through to deployment and production support Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver strategic technology initiatives Champion engineering best practices, code quality and automated testing Mentor developers and provide technical leadership where needed What We're Looking For 7+ years of Java backend development experience Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Spring Batch and Spring Integration Experience building microservices and RESTful APIs Strong SQL skills and experience with Oracle Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ Familiarity with Git, JUnit, Unix/Linux and shell scripting Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) and CI/CD pipelines A solid understanding of distributed systems, backend performance and application security What's On Offer Work on business-critical, enterprise-scale platforms Opportunity to influence architecture and technical direction Modern technology stack and collaborative engineering culture Hybrid working model Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package If you're a Senior Java Backend Developer looking for your next challenge and enjoy building high-performance, scalable backend systems, we'd love to hear from you.
