AI Product Builder, React

Company Description Ithos Wellness is building North, a private behavioral health navigation platform for people in high-stress roles, including veterans, first responders, healthcare workers, caregivers, and service-connected families. North helps people take a private first step, get their bearings, and move toward support that fits their situation. We’re building this carefully because trust matters here. The product has to feel useful, grounded, and human, not like another generic AI wellness chatbot. Role Description We’re looking for an AI Product Builder to help us keep building and improving North. This is a hands-on contract role for someone who can work across product, front-end development, AI-assisted coding, debugging, QA, and user experience. You’ll help build features, improve existing flows, test product behavior, fix bugs, and help turn plain-English product direction into working software. The current stack includes React, TypeScript, Node/Express, PostgreSQL, OpenAI API integrations, and Replit. We also use AI development tools in the build process, so this role is a good fit for someone comfortable working with tools like Replit, Cursor, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar systems, while still having the judgment to verify the work and keep the product clean. This is not a research role or a pure prompt engineering role. We need someone who can ship. What You’ll Work On • Build and improve user-facing features in React and TypeScript • Help debug issues across the app and verify that fixes actually work • Improve AI-guided product flows, response behavior, and user experience • Test edge cases and help strengthen QA before features go live • Work with APIs, database-backed features, and app logic • Help keep the product simple, clear, and trustworthy • Translate product ideas into practical technical steps • Document important changes and help reduce technical drift What We’re Looking For • Experience building real web apps with React and TypeScript • Comfort working with Node/Express, APIs, and database-backed applications • Experience using AI coding tools or building AI-enabled product features • Strong debugging habits and willingness to test your own work • Ability to work independently in a startup environment • Clear communication and good product judgment • Interest in building something mission-driven and useful • Practical experience matters more than a specific degree Nice to Have • Experience with Replit, Cursor, Supabase/PostgreSQL, OpenAI APIs, or similar tools • Experience with health, wellness, behavioral health, HR, veteran, first responder, or caregiver-related products • Portfolio, GitHub, shipped app, hackathon project, or working prototype you can show • Early-career builders, students, freelancers, and experienced contractors are all welcome if you can show the work Engagement This is a remote contract role. Hours and scope can be shaped around the right person. We’re more interested in finding a capable builder with good judgment than filling a traditional job box.
