BI & Data Developer 📍 Malta | Hybrid Working Available A well-established financial services organisation is looking to hire a Business Intelligence / Data Developer to join its growing Data & Information Technology team. This is an exciting opportunity for a data professional who enjoys working with modern Microsoft data technologies, building scalable ETL solutions, developing reporting platforms, and supporting business intelligence initiatives that drive strategic decision-making. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining data solutions that support analytics, reporting, and operational efficiency across the organisation. The Opportunity As a Business Intelligence / Data Developer, you will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to build reliable data pipelines, reporting solutions, and data warehouse components that enable data-driven decision making. This role offers exposure to a variety of projects across data integration, reporting, business intelligence, and data management within a highly regulated and technology-driven environment. What You'll Be Doing Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using Microsoft SSIS, SQL Server, and Python Build and maintain database stored procedures and data integration solutions Generate and manage XML and CSV exports for internal and external systems Develop and support business reports using SSRS and Power BI Ensure data quality, integrity, consistency, and security across data platforms Design and enhance data warehouse solutions to support reporting and analytics requirements Document business processes, data flows, and technical solutions Collaborate with business users to understand reporting and data requirements Support testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of data solutions Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the data and BI environment What We're Looking For Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field 3–5 years of experience in data development using Microsoft technologies Previous experience within the financial services sector is considered an advantage Strong experience with SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT) Solid understanding of SQL development and data modelling concepts Hands-on experience developing and maintaining SSIS ETL solutions Experience creating and maintaining SSRS reports Strong Python development experience Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality Good written and verbal communication skills Nice to Have Experience with DBT Experience building Power BI dashboards and reports Experience developing .NET applications Experience with web application development Exposure to data warehousing and business intelligence best practices What's On Offer Hybrid and flexible working arrangements Ongoing professional development and career growth opportunities Fully subsidised study loans and support for further education Private health insurance, with the option to extend coverage to dependants Life insurance and personal accident cover Annual wellness allowance (€400) Additional birthday leave Annual salary reviews and performance appraisals Employee wellbeing support, including professional counselling services Preferential employee financial products and benefits Corporate discounts and additional employee perks Stable and supportive working environment within a respected financial institution This is an excellent opportunity for a BI and Data professional looking to work on meaningful projects, develop their technical expertise, and contribute to the evolution of a modern data environment.
