Our challenge We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer with strong expertise in Java 17+ , Spring Boot , Microservices Architecture , Kafka , MongoDB , and Reactive Programming . The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high-performance backend systems and event-driven applications. Additional Information* The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Dallas, TX/Pittsburgh, PA is $105k - $115k/year & benefits (see below). The Role Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade backend applications using Java 17+ and Spring Boot Build and implement microservices-based architectures for scalable and resilient systems Develop event-driven applications using Apache Kafka Work with MongoDB for data modeling, querying, and performance optimization Implement reactive programming principles using frameworks such as Project Reactor / Spring WebFlux Create and consume RESTful APIs and asynchronous messaging services Write clean, maintainable, testable, and efficient code following best practices Collaborate with architects, product managers, QA teams, and DevOps engineers Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical mentoring of junior developers Ensure security, scalability, and reliability of applications in production environments Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field Hands-on experience in Java development Strong experience with Java 17+ Solid expertise in Spring Boot Proven experience in designing and developing Microservices Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka Strong knowledge of MongoDB Experience with Reactive Programming using Spring WebFlux , Project Reactor , or similar frameworks Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and asynchronous communication patterns Good knowledge of software design principles, design patterns, and clean architecture Familiarity with unit testing and integration testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito Experience with version control systems like Git Preferred Skills: Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS , Azure , or GCP Experience with monitoring and logging tools Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies We offer: A highly competitive compensation and benefits package.
