Backend Engineer (Java & Go)

What you will be working on: You will join the engineering team developing the next generation of a large-scale mobile application ecosystem, contributing to backend services that support millions of users across multiple European markets. The project focuses on building scalable microservices, modern integration frameworks and AI-enabled backend capabilities that power mobile applications while supporting the evolution of a unified digital platform. Working alongside frontend engineers, architects and platform teams, you will contribute to the design, development and continuous improvement of cloud-native backend solutions. What you will do: Design, develop and maintain backend services using Java (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Hibernate, JPA) and Go (GoLang) Build scalable REST APIs and microservices supporting mobile applications Contribute to the architecture and implementation of modern backend solutions within a distributed application ecosystem Support the development of a Digital Integration Framework shared across multiple European markets Design and implement backend services supporting AI integrations and automation capabilities Integrate backend services with AI platforms, analytics solutions and third-party APIs Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, testing and deployment activities Ensure high standards of security, scalability, reliability and performance Collaborate closely with frontend developers, architects and cross-functional engineering teams Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, technical innovation and engineering best practices Requirements: 4+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer, Software Engineer or similar role Strong experience with Java, including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Hibernate and JPA Experience developing applications using Go (GoLang), including Go routines, modules and REST API development Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices Good understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native architectures Experience integrating AI services, analytics platforms and third-party APIs is considered an advantage Experience contributing to backend architecture and integration frameworks Familiarity with software development best practices, including code reviews, testing and deployment processes Understanding of backend security, scalability, high availability and performance optimization Experience working with Git, CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices is considered an advantage Experience with Docker, Kubernetes or containerized environments is considered a plus Experience working in Agile, cross-functional and international teams Good English communication skills Nice to have: Experience with Generative AI or AI-assisted development Experience building backend services for mobile applications Experience with API Gateway or enterprise integration platforms Experience in telecommunications or other large-scale enterprise environments Once on board we offer various programs and benefits: 22 working days as Annual Vacation plus 3 additional days off.
